Delightful Challenge Thursday

Hello everyone!  Happy Thursday.  This week's challenge is up at Delightful Challenges and this week we're Making it Simple.

I'm not super happy with my card but I ran out of time and ink to re-do this card.  So just pretend you don't see that really bad thought in the upper left corner.

However I do {heart} that washi tape!  I think I got it at Target.  My card features Friendship Sentiment which is statement enough for this simple card.  I printed the image twice.  Once directly on the card base and a 2nd time so I was able to cut out the center and mat it to some dark card stock.  I colored the flowers using Bic Mark-it's.  I don't like them.  I'll stick to Copics.

So head on over to the challenge blog to get some better ideas!  Have a great day.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #238

Good Morning!  How are you today?  So yesterday my laptop at work got upgraded to Windows 7.  Now I'm fairly used to it's functionality since I have it on my personal laptop, but I was really struggling to restore everything yesterday.  So we'll see what sort of day I have ahead of me.

Anyway, there's a new sketch this week.  I really like this one, too.  I hope you do as well.  We're sponsored by Yours or Mine Paper Crafts.  Since she offers The Greeting Farm stamps in her store, I thought I'd pull an old set out.  I love this one and so does my daughter - who has decided that Peter Pan is the new love of her life (think Robbie Kay aka Pan on Once Upon a Time).

I really love how this turned out.  I colored him pretty well if I say so myself.  Of course Hollyanne had to point out that Peter Pan doesn't have brown hair.  I answered back that these are reddish brown colors and it's as close as I could get without making his hair look like Wilma Flintstone.

Anyway, please join us at TMS this week.  It's a fun sketch!  Have a great day!

Scrapbook Saturday with Deedee's Digis

Hello everyone!  Happy Saturday everyone.  I have another fun layout to share with you featuring one of my favorite sets by Deedee's Digis.  This is Bugs & Blossoms.... so cute!

The set of digi papers, butterfly image and sentiment worked so well with these adorable pictures of my kids.  They are looking so swag!  I had to laugh at Levi.  These pictures are sitting on my table where I left them after I scanned them in and he asks me, "why don't I have a picture?"  I said that is him.  His response, "uh-uh, that's Brendan."  Haha!  Now he sees how much he looked like this brother.

I do hope this inspires you to start scrapbooking whether digitally or traditional paper.  Preserve those memories!  Have a great Saturday.

Delightful Challenge Thursday

Good Morning friends!  I'm going to make this post super quick and short.  Technically, it's Wednesday night while I'm writing this and the Benadryl just kicked in.

This week's challenge at Delightful Challenges is super easy and I love it.... ADD A FLOURISH.  I created this card with a cut file by Lori Whitlock which worked perfectly with the sentiment that I am featuring.  Thanks Sew Much sentiment.  When I picked out the sentiment to use, I had the idea for card about 2 seconds after that.

I love that the S is a flourish all by itself which is why I chose it, but then the rest just sort of fell into place.  Sew much fun!

Have a Thursday!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #237

Good Morning friends.  This week is the last week for the "looking back to 2013" sketches.  This one is my pick and I really love the sketch.  I am also very pleased with my card design.  Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet and I'm featuring an image called Dragonfly Lily.  You all know how much I love dragonflies.

I did leave off a couple of elements from the sketch, but I just couldn't think of adding any more to make this any better.  I love all the texture from the embossing and the cut pieces.  I also cropped out one of the dragonflies so I can print it separately and larger.

I hope to see you over at TMS this week.  Have a great Monday!

Delightful Challenges Thursday

Good Morning!  Happy Thursday.  So my daughter was on my laptop last night looking for only she knows what and ended loading 6 or 7 programs onto the laptop.  I spent an hour trying to clean it up and this stuff off.  Grrr....  I really can't stand companies that just worm their way onto computers.  Anyway, so I didn't get my post done last night and I get onto my computer this morning and guess what?  These stupid programs are back!  And why isn't Norton stopping this crap happening on my computer?  Isn't that what I pay them for?

Anyway.... onto happier subjects.  This week's challenge at Delightful Challenges.  This week's theme is LOVE NOTES.  This could mean hearts, music notes, letters.  So much possibility.  My card features Luvvy Bear & Balloons.  I created a center step card using a cut file from Silhouette.

The paper is from the Love paper stack by Recollections.  I added some diamond glaze to the balloons to give them a little bit of shine.  I am very pleased with these results.

I hope to see you play along with the challenge.  Have a super day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #236

Hello everyone!  How's your day?  Oh, yeah.... it just started.  How's your cup of coffee?   Really, I hope your day is off to a great start.  It's Tuesday and the sketch is up at TMS - Kris picked us a good one.  And this week we're joined by a new sponsor.  All Dressed Up is here and it's oh so sweet.

Here's the card I created that is available free on the ADU blog.

My idea was to create the feel of her being in a spotlight.  My inking didn't go quite as I had it in my head but I'm still happy with the end result.  This week is the Judged Challenge so the twist is to use lace and pearls.  I have pearls, lace, zebra print paper and TONS of texture.

Please head on over to the TMS blog to play along.  See you there.

Just playing around....

Good Morning!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I'm doing well, it was really quiet around here with the kids gone.  I didn't get a lot of crafting done, but I enjoyed what I did.

Last year I made some tent desk calendars for some friends of mine.  I learned that one of my friends threw away hers at the end of the year (a little heart breaking, but I'm OK) so I needed to make her a new one.  I finally got around to doing that.  I even created the little calendar pages after not being able to find what I wanted from any other websites.  Check it out, tell me what you think.

I think it turned out really pretty, I love the white gold embossed paper I picked up and the strip of zebra print mulberry is just way cool and oh-so-my-friend.  Then you add red and bling and you have the perfect combo for her.

Enjoy your Monday and thanks for stopping by.

Scrapbook Saturday with Deedee's Digis

Hello everyone!  Well, I'm here all by myself this weekend.  My kids are gone for the weekend with their dad as grandparents are in town.  I'll be off to a birthday party this afternoon for my friend Evelyn.  It's going to be a good weekend!

So for this edition of Scrapbook Saturday with Deedee's Digis, I'm using the sweet turtle from Turtleriffic Day which is the digi of the month.  It was perfect for my cousin's grandson's first birthday.  Leo looks just like his grandpa did.  So darn cute!!

I followed a sketch from Page Maps.  I have a goal to use at least one layout from Page Maps every month this year.  I've loved this site for years and years and it's high time I start showing it!  So this map is from January 2014.

All the papers and embellishments are from the My Memories Suite software (some "stock" and some purchased).  Be sure to visit Deedee's Digis blog to get the scoop on the Digi of the Month.  OK - I'm off to another birthday celebration.

Delightful Challenge Thursday

Good Morning!  I do hope your week is going well.  Mine is going well, I guess.  Nothing exciting to tell so far.  However, this week's challenge is up at Delightful Challenges and it's time for a new release!

This week's challenge is an Anything Goes challenge so I took the opportunity to play with my Silhouette Portrait some more.  However, it's not time for Easter items to be in stores yet, so you'll have to use your imagination.

This sweet little basket is the backdrop for Easter Egg Molly.  I adore her!  Use your imagination and you can see the basket filled with grass and goodies.

Head on over to the Delightful Challenges blog to play along.  It'll be fun!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #235

Hello!  I cannot believe I didn't share the news with you yesterday.  Seminole Dazzlers Varsity & JV high kick placed 1st at UDA Nationals!!  Yay!!  Hollyanne is so excited.

OK - now to the regular Tuesday post.  The sketch is up at TMS and it's a fun one.  Our sponsor this week is the very sweet Patti Rowe, independent demonstrator with CTMH.  She shared some fun stamps and papers with us, too, so that we could play.  Looky looky....

I love this paper!  It's southwestern gone hip!  So much fun!  Personally, I think purple and orange are a fantastic combination and these simple elements with the BOLD sentiment created the perfect single stamp card.

Head on over to TMS to see more fantastic and inspiring cards created by the design team.  Have a fantastic Tuesday.

Just playing around....

Hi everyone.  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I enjoyed my time.  It was nice and quiet and I had lots of quality bonding time with my Silhouette Portrait.  I have 3 cards to share with you.

The first one is to play along with In the Pink challenge blog which was to use die cuts or punches.  I used digital die cuts (I hope that counts).  I also learned how to cut out digi-stamps using my Portrait thanks to two awesome videos by ScrappyDIVA Karin.

The card base is by a favorite svg designer, Lori Whitlock and the flowers are from Designs on Cloud 9.  So pretty!  The sweet little fairy is the digital stamp I cut out, it's by CC Designs.

Here's a close up so you can see how cut out the fairy image.  It's still a little more white space then I wanted but I still love it!  And aren't these flowers gorgeous?

The next card I have to share with you is playing along with The Kraft Journal.  A favorite challenge that I haven't been playing along with near as often as I want.  Their challenge this week is You Have my Heart.  I'm not into Valentine's Day, but I loved this little owl and had some fun despite it being VD card.

And the last card is playing along with Scor-Pal.  I was a guest designer for Scor-Pal last year and enjoyed every minute of it.  I am so happy to see they have monthly challenges now.  This month's challenge is more then 1 score line and flowers.  I created a flip card.  The daisy is from the same set of flowers by Designs on Cloud 9.

Well that was my weekend - besides watching a few episodes of Grimm and West Side Story.  Yep, I still bawled my head off.  Have a great Monday!
